LORAIN & MAY is Making Changes
After 15 years as part of our successful design partnership, Jennifer May is changing her role as co-owner to work as a consultant for the company. One of the original owners of Lorain & May Design Associates, Jennifer will continue to be a valuable member of our design team. “Penny and I are incredibly proud of the design work we’ve done creating unique and practical living and working spaces for our clients. I will continue to be available for design consultations but am delighted to place the day-to-day running of the business in Penny’s capable hands,” remarked Jennifer.
The new interior design company will now be called Lorain Design Associates. Penny has been working closely with both Senior Designer and Marketing Director Tina Hendricks and Junior Designer Melyssa Lee for nearly a year now. Tina’s extensive commercial interior design experience and strong business knowledge has been a great asset to our team. Melyssa’s skills with everything from Chief Architect CAD drafting to accounting to order processing have made her an integral part of almost every activity in the office.
In February, when a larger office space in our adorable building on G Street became available, Penny couldn’t pass up the opportunity the larger space could give our growing business. “Our location is ideal for many reasons, so to be able to expand and only move across the hall was fabulous. And we still have Pacific Craft Builders, our friends and local General Contractors, on the other side of the hall for quick consultations and collaborations."
"We’re thoroughly enjoying our new space and - not surprisingly. - we enjoyed designing the new office almost as much as working in it,” Penny admits. Our new paint, carpet, desks, resource library and project planning areas are making our work day processes easier and more productive.
